Effect of a diabetogeic factor from bovine adenohypophysis on dog serum nefa levels

摘要: Abstract 1. Fasted dog serum non-esterified fatty acid (NEFA) levels were elevated 10 and 34 hours after administration of a diabetogenic protein (BDF) isolated from bovine adenohypophysis. 2. The fasting NEFA in spite the presence normal or high glucose insulin levels. 3. After oral to BDF-treated animals, fall paralleled inversely increasing blood insulin. 4. These data are discussed with respect insulin-antagonistic action BDF. Even though plasma fell response during entire 3-hour glucose-tolerance test always significantly higher than observed control tests. 5. Since BDF is similar urine patients lipoatrophic diabetes, its lipid-mobilizing might help explain lipoatrophy, hyperlipaemia, diabetes mellitus, resistance seen diabetic patients.
