摘要: Background The acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) that develops after thoracic surgery is usually lethal. use of corticosteroids to treat ARDS has been the subject great controversy. Methods Therefore we compared conventional therapy with early low-dose steroid in treatment postoperative ARDS. Methylprednisolone was given daily as an intravenous push every 6 hours and changed a single oral dose or discontinued, loading 2 mg/kg followed by per day. Results Over 2.5 years, 523 major operations were performed developing 20 patients (3.8%), which 8 treated 12 therapy. Early significantly reduced mortality, 7 (58.3%) recovering without mechanical ventilation. Conclusions We believe this first clinical study methylprednisolone at phase beneficial effects steroids are consistent hypothesis fibroproliferation response lung injury, inhibited disturbing operative wound healing.
