摘要: Abstract Background. The objective of this study was to describe Colorado family physicians’ (FPs') knowledge hereditary breast cancer and related practice behaviors. Method. A survey mailed 400 practicing FPs randomly sampled from the board‐certified members Academy Family physicians. Results. Overall, inadequate. Less than half respondents knew that BRCA mutations account for 0‐10% all cancers; 38% lifetime risk non‐carriers, 17% responded a known carrier would have 50%. Just 45% BRCA1 mutation could pass father daughter. Similarly, only reported an increased ovarian carriers, male BRCA2 carriers.
