摘要: Abstract Mortality and morbidity in non-diabetic patients with plethysmographically verified arterial insufficiency of the legs have been investigated a 10-yr follow-up study 312 patients, men women, who were first examined 1967–1969 calf plethysmography because clinical symptoms intermittent claudication. The rate was 99.7%. population divided into two groups depending on results plethysmography, group P signs occlusion N normal findings. mortality N-group did not differ from that general population. For closer analysis material groups, 40–54 55–69 yr age. In P-group total between 2.2 4.9 times greater age, due mainly to myocardial infarction. autopsy 92%. relative risk higher younger than older ones. infarction as well stroke cancer related smoking increased P-group. Compared for 4.7 3.6 all more 6.1 patients. Ten required amputation lower limb giving an annual 0.7%. Only one patient amputated.
