Sexual Development and Mating Response of Laboratory-Reared and Native Mediterranean Fruit Flies1,2

摘要: In the laboratory, 100% of laboratory-reared female Ceratitis capitata (Wiedemann) were mated by 4th day postemergence, whereas only 65% females native strain 10 days postemergence. Also, in field cage tests, twice as many unirradiated flies mated; however, when laboratory irradiated and dyed, mating response 2 strains did not differ. Mating peaked 1 h after sunrise; but laboratoryreared later day, so their was similar to that flies.
