摘要: Fluoride glass fibers were drawn from the GdF3-BaF2-ZrF4 rod by a conventional fiber fabrication technique. The homogeneous rods prepared with composition 2GdF37, 28BaF238 and 58ZrF469 (mol%) casting in brass mold. transmission loss of best was as low 0.48 dB/m, measured at 3.39 µm for several meters long ; further purification starting materials should yield significant decreases loss, approaching intrinsic value.
