摘要: Prior exposure to a conditioned stimulus (CS) typically results in latent inhibition-slower acquisition of associative learning about that subsequent training. Here, we found CS preexposure had different effects on the appetitive conditioning rats with sucrose unconditioned (US) depending training test procedures, similarity and choice response measure. Preexposure visual or an auditory produced facilitation food-cup-directed responding when both those cues were (separately) paired delivery (Experiments 1 3). By contrast, same procedure resulted inhibition food-cup if second phase was modality as preexposed (Experiment 2). In Experiment 3, enhanced phases included single CSs, compared treatments which only one presented but two CSs other phase. 4, cue slowed it context salient weaker salience. Finally, measure general activity revealed after all conditions 4 experiments. We discuss within several classes theories, none provides comprehensive account.
