摘要: Abstract A two-step process comprising a surface roughening step by excimer laser irradiation and post-treatment photo-grafting to decrease the free energy was employed increase oil repellence of technical fabrics made poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET). The modification designed improve performance multi-layer filters for compressed air filtration, in which served remove, i.e. drain, separated from stream. In detail, fibers surfaces were roughened applying several pulses at wavelength 248 nm subsequently photo-grafted with 1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluoro-decyl acrylate (PPFDA). wetting behavior increased treatments full on as-received highly repellent contact angles (131 ± 7)°. On latter state, droplets did not spread or penetrate even after one day. grafting PPFDA alone without any yielded an angle (97 ± 11)°. However, droplet completely penetrated fabric over period drainage characterized recording pressure drop two-layer model filter as function time. results proved potential treatment, reduced flow resistance 1-h operation approximately 25%.
