摘要: AbstractLongevity and other life history variables are key to understanding evolutionary processes the biology of extinct animals. For past 20 years, lifespan cave bears received an increased interest. Studies focusing on incremental lines tooth cementum resulted in detailed mortality patterns from different localities. In this review, we summarise literature age estimation as well European bear localities present novel data longevity 94 teeth originating 20 Additionally, relative emergence pattern permanent dentition is investigated under Schultz’s rule framework possible implications. this, known sequences extant species compared with one bears. Our results suggest that typical duration was 19 years but show rare cases ages up 30–32 years were achieved. o...
