摘要: To understand the conditions under which age differences in everyday problem-solving performance occur, this study investigated individual and collaborative problem solving. Younger (24 females, 24 males; M = 19.98, SD 1.43) older adults (25 71.14, 6.65) worked either alone or with a same-sex friend to plan cross-country trip attend wedding. Age favoring younger were found on three of eight measures: two component completion accuracy variables (i.e., city completion, Mt. Rushmore completion) composite variable that assessed overall performance. also completed task faster than did adults. Collaborators out-performed individuals measure frequency planning errors. Females committed more errors males did. adults' performances predicted by different variables; however, basic abilities not consistently significant predictors for The results suggest characteristics may differentially influence
