摘要: Abstract Remediating saline–sodic soils with organic amendments is increasingly seen as a cheaper and sustainable alternative to inorganic materials. The reclamation potential of biochar, biosolids greenwaste composts applied soil was evaluated in laboratory leaching experiment using moderate SAR reclaimed water. Treatments included co-compost, compost (all at 75 t ha−1 rate), gypsum (50% requirement), biochar + gypsum, biosolids + gypsum, greenwaste + gypsum non-amended control. All treatments were subjected one month incubation after which, filled columns leached water until 7 PV had passed. Cumulative leachate losses Na+, Ca2+, Mg2+ addition properties leaching. Results show that effective reducing the salinity sodicity all soils, irrespective amendment application. However, incorporating biochar significantly enhanced this effect. Salt higher treated amendments. cations from compared unamended controls. Improvements aggregate stability saturated hydraulic conductivity prominent soils. After leaching, analyses indicated lowered more ECe, ESP than control exchange complex Ca2+. Soil pH reduced CEC increased only Although individual applications proved be significant enough remediate soil, combined improving directly related sodium removal including conductivity, ESP, SAR, therefore could have supplementary benefit accelerating process.
