Impacts of Participatory Forestry on Livelihoods of Ethnic People: Experience from Bangladesh

摘要: As a strategy of social development, the Bangladeshi government has attached highest priority to participatory forestry (PF) since early 1980s. In this article, we examine impacts PF on livelihoods ethnic people, drawing empirical data from three villages involved in two projects. The projects have varying participating villagers. Disparities income and forest conditions study were traced factors including production technologies (agroforestry), top-down approach project management, failure create awareness about benefits, inability staff members organize planters.
