Effects of waste eggshells and SiC addition on specific strength and thermal expansion of hybrid green metal matrix composite

摘要: Chicken eggshell waste is an industrial byproduct, and its disposal constitutes a serious environmental hazard. can be used in commercial products to produce new materials with low cost density. Low density material which sustain at higher temperature remarkable area of research. Keeping these facts the mind, present investigation aims study physical behaviour, specific strength thermal expansion AA2014/SiC/carbonized hybrid green metal matrix composites. Microstructure shows that reinforcement particles (SiC particulates carbonized eggshells particles) are uniformly distributed AA2014 alloy. Specific for composites containing 2.5wt.% SiC up 7.5wt.% was observed than other selected While same composition (AA2014/2.5% SiC/7.5% composites), porosity lower The results revealed sample AA2014/2.5% showed minimum cross sectional reduction after 450°C among all samples. Overall costs were also calculated.
