摘要: A homocisteina esta envolvida na genese da aterosclerose e, assim, e considerada um importante prevalente fator de risco doenca arterial periferica. O estado nutricional vitaminico deficiente, em especial do folato, a principal causa hiper-homocisteinemia nesses casos. Embora ainda nao haja consenso sobre dose exata forma utilizacao folato suplementos adequacao alimentar ou fortificacao cereais para o tratamento hiper-homocisteinemia, diversos estudos realizados pacientes com vascular periferica mostraram que isoladamente, pode reduzir as concentracoes homocisteina, bem como concentracao alguns marcadores biologicos processo aterosclerose. No entanto, recentes comprovaram esse beneficio inflamatorio associado hiper-homocisteinemia. Desta forma, embora isolada seja uma terapeutica custo-efetiva no controle seu impacto evolucao das doencas arteriais persiste inconclusivo. Esta revisao abordara os efeitos obtidos diversas formas
