摘要: The protein kinase C (PKC) family of serine/threonine kinases share structural homology, while exhibiting substantial functional diversity. PKC isoforms are ubiquitously expressed in tissues which makes it difficult to define roles for individual isoforms, with complexity compounded by the finding that can co-operate or antagonize other members. A number studies suggest involvement members regulating leukaemic cell survival and proliferation. Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL), most common Western world, exhibits dysregulated expression recent reports indicating PKCβ δ play a critical role B-cell development, due their ability link receptor (BCR) downstream signalling pathways. Given prognostic significance BCR CLL, inhibition these BCR/PKC-mediated pathways is therapeutic relevance. present review discusses emerging pathophysiology CLL assesses approaches have been undertaken modulate activity.
