摘要: Introduction The experience of negative emotions (eg, anger, anxiety and sadness) is associated with an increased short-term risk incident cardiovascular disease (CVD) events, independent traditional CVD factors. Impairment in endothelial function one possible biological mechanism which may explain the association between events. This laboratory-based, single-blind, randomised controlled experimental study aims to investigate impact induced including sadness on function. Methods analysis In a between-subjects design, 280 healthy participants are four emotion inductions: anxiety, or neutral condition. Endothelium-dependent vasodilation, circulating levels cell-derived microparticles bone marrow-derived progenitor cells, indices nitric oxide inhibition assessed before 3, 40, 70 100 min after induction. Finally, subsample 84 participants, potential moderating effects cardiorespiratory fitness habitual physical activity adverse acute investigated. Ethics dissemination conducted compliance Helsinki Declaration Columbia University Medical Center Institutional Review Board. results will be disseminated at several research conferences as published articles peer reviewed journals. implemented reported line SPIRIT statement. Trial registration number NCT01909895; Pre-results.
