摘要: Sustainability is a vital issue for long-term development of industries and effective environmental protection. The principal aim sustainable the progress on all fronts, i.e., economy, environment, society. In this paper, set new sustainability indices introduced to assess economic performances as well industrial systems in uniform structure. these indices, values nonmoneyed moneyed resources, services, commodities are quantified using common unit: emergy. As compared existing emergy-based that originated from study agricultural or natural ecological systems, newly defined improve applicability effectiveness by addressing unique features systematically. These reveal strong interdependence among multiple objectives provide clear guidance how their performance fronts. utilities demonstrated case studies.
