摘要: Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to explore the performance increase achieved by vendor managed inventory (VMI) under different levels outside supply capacity, demand uncertainty, and lead time.Design/methodology/approach study uses discrete event simulation VMI chain scenarios.Findings analysis suggests that when implementing a program, capacity restrictions suppliers have be taken into consideration even though they not participated in program. Furthermore, results also show unless retailer provides additional information distributor resolve higher uncertainty market create significant reductions savings realized VMI.
