摘要: A strategy is presented for analysing marine biological survey data and relating the biotic patterns to environmental data. To avoid circular argument, are kept separate. The illustrated by a worked example using on distribution of 182 nematode species in 107 samples River Exe estuary. Nineteen stations grouped Into 4 main clusters complementary classification multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) ordination techniques. These both based root-root transformed abundance with Bray-Curtis measure similarity. Indicator characterising each group extracted information statistics. Inverse analyses give co-occurring which strongly related station groups. Relationships groups variables revealed superimposing one variable at time MDS plot, showing that some differ sediment granulometry others salinity, example. Some other factors plotted show no difference between Similarly, physiognomic characteristics superimposed plots inverse analysis groups, revealing differences setal length trophic status Finally, major another terms morphological adaptation habitat.
