摘要: A recently described loop-mediated isothermal polymerase chain reaction (LAMP) for molecular detection of Plasmodium falciparum was compared with microscopy, PfHRP2-based rapid diagnostic test (RDT), and nested (PCR) as the "gold standard" in 115 Bangladeshi in-patients fever. DNA extraction LAMP conducted by conventional methods or simple heating sample; results were either assessed visually gel electrophoresis. Conventional followed electrophoresis had highest agreement reference method (81.7%, kappa = 0.64), a sensitivity (95% CI) 76.1% (68.3-83.9%), comparable to RDT but specificity 89.6% (84.0-95.2%) 100% microscopy. heat treatment deteriorated unacceptable levels. enables diagnosis malaria settings limited technical resources will need further optimization. The are contrast higher accuracy reported an earlier study comparing non-validated PCR method.
