摘要: Abstract The water footprint (WF) has introduced a much-needed perspective for decision-makers on the use of resources in supply chains. It been used as tool to assess and improve efficiency management, well inform potential environmental impacts consumption products. This paper is contribution towards harmonizing WF assessments within decision-making contexts they relate their specific focus either products or management. First, we describe relationship between product- management-focused approaches distinct perspectives, priorities reliance academic fields relation decision-making. We then propose harmonized assessment that observes both hydrogeographic product system boundaries. apply this case soybean production Mato Grosso, Brazil, illustrate how micro- macro-level can be combined more complete set policy responses affecting resources. Our aims better highlight strengths limitations individual which overcome by approach. By focusing conversation integrated decision-making, show range different purposes useful results that, together, promote greater local global security.
