摘要: OBJECTIVE: In a group of crime victims, the authors investigated overlap between acute stress disorder and posttraumatic (PTSD) diagnoses their relative ability to predict PTSD at 6 months. METHOD: A mixed-sex 157 victims violent assault were interviewed within 1 month crime. At 6-month follow-up, 87.9% reinterviewed by telephone. RESULTS: baseline rate was 19.1%, 21.0%, percentage agreement them 95.5%. The two equally effective predictors months later. CONCLUSIONS: high level calls into question whether, as presently formulated, they represent distinct diagnoses.
