摘要: Objectives To evaluate the risk of incident myocardial infarction (MI), stroke and peripheral vascular disease (PVD) in individuals with systemic sclerosis (SSc) a general population context. Methods We conducted cohort study using UK primary care database containing records from 1986 to 2011. SSc diagnoses, outcomes cardiovascular factors were identified electronic medical records. two analyses: (1) MI stroke, (2) PVD, excluding prevalent at baseline for each analysis. estimated HRs comparing age-, sex- entry time-matched comparison cohorts, adjusting potential factors. Results Among 865 (85.8% women, mean age 58.7 years), incidence rates (IRs) 4.4 4.8 per 1000 person-years (PY), versus 2.5 PY cohort. The corresponding adjusted 1.80 (95% CI 1.07 3.05) 2.61 1.54 4.44) stroke. 858 (85.3% female, 58.9 years), IR PVD was 7.6 1.9 cohort, an HR 4.35 2.74 6.93). Conclusions These findings provide first population-based evidence that is associated increased developing MI, PVD. Further insight into mechanisms, as well how subtype, organ involvement medication use may alter these risks, needed.
