摘要: Abstract The effect of changes in the ionic composition incubation medium on active uptake and retention myo -inositol by cortex slices from rat kidneys has been assessed. Na + requirement could not be satisfied Li , K Rb Cs choline or Tris . (>4 mM) was necessary for optimal inositol, but replaced completely with only partly effetive place whereas NH 4 were ineffective. effects inositol leakage produced substitution largely reversible, indicating that had permanently damaged slices. Neither glucose nor ATP restored values two parameters examined to normal absence at low levels alone able maintain integrity system. Both Ca 2+ Mg concentrations 1 mM 1–2 mM, respectively, required, Sr as 0.75 mM. inhibition ouabain Krebs-Ringer bicarbonate media also occurred, when either omitted other monovalent cations. It prevented increased or, especially, cations are discussed terms mechanism transport non-electrolytes renal tubular membranes.
