Sisal cellulose whiskers reinforced polyvinyl acetate nanocomposites

摘要: Sisal nanowhiskers were used as novel reinforcement to obtain nanocomposites with polyvinyl acetate (PVAc) matrix phase. They are seen attractive materials due the widespread availability and low cost of sisal source material. Statistical analysis whisker length diameter resulted in average values 250 nm 4 nm, respectively, resulting an aspect ratio upper range reported cellulose nanowhisker values. The high ensures percolation, mechanical improvements thermal stability, at lower fiber loads. Water uptake behaviour whisker–PAVc composites studied. Whisker addition was found stabilize no benefit when increasing content beyond percolation threshold: For all contents studied above water stays constant, Tg does not vary a given relative humidity. diffusion rate however increases accumulation whisker–PVAc interface. Below stabilization is only noticed humidity, whereas humidity results disruption interactions. This work shows potential polar polymers even conditions minimal addition.
