Explaining Female and Male Entrepreneurship at the Country Level

摘要: Using Global Entrepreneurship Monitor data for 29 countries this study investigates the (differential) impact of several factors on female and male entrepreneurship at country level. These are derived from three streams literature, including that in general, labor force participation entrepreneurship. The paper deals with methodological aspects investigating (female) by distinguishing between two measures entrepreneurship: number entrepreneurs share women total entrepreneurs. first measure is used to investigate whether variables have an general (influencing both entrepreneurs). second a differential relative entrepreneurship, i.e., they influence diversity or gender composition Findings indicate – large entrepreneurial activity rates influenced same direction. However, some (e.g., unemployment, life satisfaction) we find present also shows influencing may be different those In light it important governments aware what want accomplish (i.e., do stimulate entrepreneurship) able select appropriate policy measures.
