The Valuation of Different Island Destinations Using Gravity Models

摘要: Islands are one of the most important destinations for tourism and leisure. However, islands exhibit different levels attractiveness in course time comparing with other islands. The objective this paper is to analyze subject Archipelago Azores, using gravity models travel cost method. study aims understand performances along between caused by changes supply side (e.g. number hotel beds, animation activities, events, etc.). regression analysis includes two moments: it starts calibration attractiveness; a second moment focused answering question “what affects attractiveness?†. Beyond its introduction conclusions, divided into three main parts: model explanation; application analytical concepts Azores islands; finally, relevant results.
