摘要: Abstract Plants with cyclical variations in operating conditions require multiperiod heat exchanger networks (HEN) able to perform integration efficiently all those periods. In such cases, however, overdesign issues arise, i.e., a might be too large for the service it must given period, requiring fractions of process streams by-pass units. this work, timesharing mechanisms (TSM) are considered circumventing issues, which means services not fixed throughout different periods operation and single piece equipment can between pairs each cycle. Two schemes present meta-heuristic approach obtain preliminary solution before applying switching concepts. Then, systematic rearrangement re-sizing new optimization stage performed order find areas more suitable arrangements. The latter is proposed model, previous works that consider schemes. Four cases from literature were investigated results lower total annual costs (TAC) than reported previously by other achieved.
