摘要: Introduction Whether dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Parkinson's disease (PDD) should be considered as one entity or two distinct conditions is a matter of controversy. The aim this study was to compare the characteristics DLB PDD patients using data from Swedish Dementia Quality Registry (SveDem). Methods SveDem national Web-based quality registry initiated improve diagnostic workup, treatment, care across Sweden. Patients newly diagnosed various types were registered in during years 2007-2011. current cross-sectional report based on (n = 487) 297) patients. Demographic characteristics, Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) score, medications compared between groups. Results No gender differences observed groups (P 0.706). significantly younger than at time diagnosis (74.8 versus 76.8 years, respectively; P Conclusion This demonstrates several work-up PDD. onset earlier PDD, while treatment cholinesterase inhibitors more common Severe cognitive impairment (MMSE score ≤24) frequent group, whereas tests used confirm diagnosis. Some similarities also found, such distribution use memantine, antidepressants, antipsychotics drugs. Further follow-up cost-effectiveness studies are needed provide evidence for workup guidelines
