Report of rabies in feedlot cattle introduced to Baja California from the state of Guerrero, Mexico

摘要: Rabies is a fatal infection of the central nervous system produced by Lyssavirus family Rhabdoviridae. The virus distributed worldwide and primarily transmitted rabid animal bites, with multiple reservoirs depending on region. vampire bat Desmodus rotundus in several states Mexico considered main vector rabies cattle. In state Baja California, no cases paralytic have been reported. this work, we report first three feedlot cattle showing signs, which were later confirmed reference laboratory immunofluorescent analysis. Considering that majority are introduced to California from other where endemic, it necessary strengthen current programs vaccination reduce rate infected animals their places origin avoid spread geographic areas country.
