摘要: Twelve patients who developed mania after a brain lesion are reported. Ages ranged from 20 to 83 years. Five had tumors (three frontal meningiomas, one temporal meningioma, and astrocytoma), four stroke lesions (one frontal, temporal, two thalamocapsular), traumatic closed head injury, patient pituitary adenoma resection. Although seven restricted the right hemisphere, bilateral or midline damage left hemisphere lesion. Damage structures functionally connected obitofrontal cortex, mainly in seems be associated with secondary mania. The possible roles of monoaminergic, genetic, perinatal factors pathogenesis discussed.
