摘要: Contact-dependent growth inhibition (CDI) is the first contact-dependent competition system identified in bacteria. CDI mediated by CdiA/CdiB two-partner secretion system, and BamA outer membrane protein serves as receptor on target cells. A small immunity protein, CdiI, required to protect inhibitor cells from their own system. Recent results our group show that systems are present a number of important gram-negative plant animal pathogens. The C-terminal region CdiA (CdiA-CT) polymorphic contains inhibitory activity. CdiA-CT uropathogenic Esherichia coli 536 tRNase whereas Dickeya dadantii 3937 has DNase Accordingly, these bacteria contain distinct CdiI proteins, which specifically bind inactivate cognate CdiA-CT. Remarkably, CdiA-CTs modular: one "stick" can deliver different toxins. We discuss findings well showing plays an role intra-strain bacterial natural world. detailed mechanistic understanding could facilitate development probiotics antimicrobials specific
