摘要: Abstract Six esters of both betaine and l -carnitine bromides, featuring alkyl groups ranging from C8 to C18 in length, have been synthesized. The thermal behaviour these twelve bio-based salts has analyzed compared by gravimetric analysis differential scanning calorimetry. ester bromides melted below 100 °C can hence be considered ionic liquids (ILs) with full rights. Conversely, the exception shortest member series, slightly above this upper limit. Also, they resulted less thermally stable when their analogues. Moreover, self-aggregation behavior structurally related inspected through surface tension, conductivity measurements isothermal titration calorimetry, varied significantly. critical micelle concentration (CMC) values for series were lower than those former ILs also capable adsorbing more efficiently at air/water interface as well reducing tension. A potential use organic components deep eutectic solvents is envisaged, thus showcasing applicability natural trimethylammonium cation.
