Mortality of balsam fir and black spruce advance growth 3 years after clear-cutting

摘要: The effects of balsam fir (Abiesbalsamea (L.) Mill.) and black spruce (Piceamariana (Mill.) B.S.P.) seedling attributes on survival were measured four cutovers regenerated to three fir. In each these, about 240 stems permanently identified shortly after logging their main characteristics noted. Survival was assessed 1 3 years. First-year mortality reached 24% for 21% spruce. It varied with height quality. Mortality during the second third year harvesting less important more evenly distributed between different classes. When all classes combined, logistic regression calculated total able correctly classify observations in 74% cases by using variables: prerelease growth, lean angle, a wound index.
