摘要: The rise and fall of the Millennial generation congregating in central cities is a product life course meeting unique historical context. Three reinforcing cycles harmonized before 2010 to maximize presence, then will harmonize 2020 reduce presence. In 2015, peak birth cohort passed age 25, with smaller cohorts follow. Job opportunity that had sharply worsened following Great Recession reversing, renewed job growth opening entry positions, less competition from cohorts. housing, Millennials were doubled up at levels their housing cycle, blocked by older peers who unable turn over apartments for better homes. With renewal new construction home buying, stronger vacancy chains again stimulate outflow. combined effect three reversed concentrations young adults. Preferences may persist urban walkability but, freed former constraints, preferences now be expressed through choice broader range locales. Cities suburbs can compete passing 30 walkable districts, transit, schools housing.
