摘要: This paper presents information on the physical and mechanical properties of different sizes palm kernel shells (PKS) used here as lightweight aggregates (LWA) their influence shell concrete (PKSC). Silica fume fly ash were cementitious materials all mixes had 1% superplasticizer cement weight. It has been found that PKS consists about 65 to 70% medium size particles in range 5 10 mm. The other two sizes, namely, small (0-5 mm) large (10-15 PKSC. 28-day compressive strengths 21 26 MPa. mix was made with only produced lower strength 11% compared contained PKS. However, exclusion didn’t cause any segregation gap-graded aggregate concrete. bond governed failure flexural splitting tensile respectively 12 7% strength. PKSC highest modulus elasticity 11 GPa.
