摘要: Depuis quatre ans, le virus du Nil occidental (VNO) est devenu une menace importante pour la sante en Amerique nord. Au Canada, l'infection par VNO a fait son apparition premiere fois chez les humains 2002. Methodes: Les patients qui ont consulte au University Health Network et Mount Sinai Hospital Toronto maladie neurologique attribuee ete identifies suivis neurologie. Nous presentons donnees cliniques, resultats biochimiques epreuves electrodiagnostiques, radiologiques anatomopathologiques. Resultats: En aout septembre 2002, 26 porteurs d'une infection hospitalises, dont 14 avaient des manifestations neurologiques. Onze encephalite. presente neuromusculaire, deux initialement neuf suite La majorite atteinte motrice localisee corne anterieure et/ou neurone moteur, neuropathie demyelinisante un avait axonale sensitivomotrice. rhombencephalite, l'ataxie, myelopathie parkinsonisme etaient plus rares. Quatre sont morts, de 75 ans immunocompromis. Conclusions: manifestation frequente etait l'encephalite avec neuromusculaire subsequente. diversite observations cliniques anatomopathologiques temoigne diffuse systeme nerveux central peripherique.
