Barriers to climate change adaptation: Qualitative evidence from southwestern Iran

摘要: Abstract To minimize the negative impacts of climate change, adaptation is key. There are, however, a range factors that, unless recognized and dealt with effectively, can prevent or disrupt efforts by farmers. Barriers to change in Iran, their characteristics, are under-researched. They need be identified investigated both inform policymaking provide assistance This study uses qualitative approach identify explore such barriers Susa county, historic region Khuzestan Province southwestern Iran. The data required for this research were obtained from series focus group discussions (n = 50) semi-structured interviews key informants (n = 50). Our results explored categorized numerous responses adaptation, as social cultural, economic, technological, informational, market-based. It important note reality, margins between classifications much subtler than many typologies indicate. Based on study's findings, appropriate policy recommended.
