摘要: This study aims to identify and define the type frequency of elastotic alterations vessels ducts in pancreatic ductal carcinoma (PDAC) evaluate its diagnostic significance. Representative tissue from 36 Whipple specimens, stained with Verhoeff's Van-Gieson, was studied focusing on density distribution elastic fibers walls ducts, perivascular periductal tumor stroma. Vessels within carcinoma, at periphery non-tumoral pancreas were grouped examined separately. Vimentin α-SMA immunostains used for depiction fibroblasts myofibroblasts. Histochemistry revealed mild severe changes all cases. Vascular elastosis more prominent diminished periphery. In stroma or no identified. α-SMA+ cells observed large numbers as a ring around carcinomatous structures. There scant non-elastotic vessels. Conclusively, vascular is tumor-associated phenomenon PDAC. Its presence indicative benignity acquiring possible role.
