摘要: We consider the evolution of white dwarfs with compact object companions (specifically black holes masses up to ∼10^6 M_⊙, neutron stars, and other dwarfs). suppose that orbits are initially quite elliptical then shrink circularize under action gravitational radiation. During this evolution, will pass through resonances when harmonics orbital frequency match stellar oscillation eigenfrequencies. As a star passes these resonances, associated modes be excited can driven amplitudes so large there is back reaction on orbit which, in turn, limits growth modes. A formalism presented for describing dynamical interaction non-rotating linear approximation treated as non-relativistic. semi-analytical expression found computing resonant energy transfer function parameters regime where may neglected. This used calculate Results passage sequence several hypothetical systems. It amplitude l = m 2f-mode into non-linear appropriate initial conditions. also discuss no expected fail, qualitative effects reaction.
