摘要: Due to municipal, industrial and nonpoint source waste discharges streams rivers tendency of many chemicals become associated with sediments. Sediments are particularly problematic near densely populated industrialised urban areas, such as the Izmir metropolitan area in west part Turkey. The aim this study was determine potential adverse effects sediments from five flowing into inner Bay by using sea urchin, Paracentrotus lividus embryotoxicity test if there any correlation between toxicity chemical data. Toxicity tests indicated that exception smallest concentration only one stream sediment samples (0.6 mg wet wt. mL(-1)) all resulted significant increases frequencies developmental defects on P. embryos. Analytical data showed had characteristics similar defined other authors polluted An important point note excellent total organic carbon content urchin data, but not metal content.
