Immunohistology of graft-versus-host disease mediated skin lesions and its correlation to a large granular lymphocyte surface phenotype and function

摘要: Skin lesions of five patients presenting with acute and chronic Gvhd after bone marrow transplantation were analyzed on frozen tissue sections using selected monoclonal antibodies against various T-cell determinants HLA-antigens in order to define immunological phenomena characteristic for cutaneous damage seen GvHD states. Four these showed marked increase a certain subpopulation positive HLA-D region products the upper dermis. A considerable number T-cells seemed show cytotoxic reactivity basal cell layers epithelium correlate appearance an OKT4−, OKT8+, HLA-DR+ subset peripheral blood natural killer (NK) like activity targets. Ia antigen expression keratinocytes observed one patient could result from rapid irregular turnover epidermal cells affected by continuous stimuli T-cells. Further studies skin biopsies different states autoimmune diseases may lead valuable diagnostic criteria early accurate assessment transplantation.
