摘要: The concept of Blue Economy (BE) is recognised as central for sustainable development that incorporates socio-economic benefits and ecological conservation. However, in Africa, much the emphasis on BE placed economic gains; a result, traditional livelihoods small-scale local operations are outcompeted by international corporations government initiatives, with little or no regard social inclusion environmental sustainability. We argue successful initiatives Africa accentuate involvement communities promote sustenance natural ecosystem. define success terms sustainability balance among ecological, aspects. Drawing extensive expert experiences, observational data literature review case studies across African continent, we highlight two critical findings. First, large scale prioritise gains at expense degradation exclusion communities. Second, using full spectrum (FSS) evaluation, show interventions considered economic, socio-cultural institutional objectives. these studies, propose adoption collaborative framework which amalgamates top-down bottom-up approaches to management. Achieving goal blue growth now even more challenged implications COVID-19 sectors. Reimagining rebuilding resilient post-coronavirus will require strong political commitment promoting between line Union's Agenda 2063 United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
