摘要: Patients with active juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) have frequently low haemoglobin (Hgb) due to inflammation and/or iron deficiency. The aim of the study was evaluate effect anti-tumor necrosis factor (TNF) therapy on their status. Twenty children JIA were treated either etanercept (n = 8) or infliximab 12) for 12 months. Iron status assessed during anti-TNF treatment by Hgb, mean corpuscular volume red blood cells (MCV), serum (sFe), ferritin, percent transferrin saturation (sTrfesat) and receptor concentration (sTfR). sTfR/log ferritin index (TfR/logF) also used. Prior therapy, Hgb MCV 118 ± 15.5 g/L 79 7.7 fl in group, 113 12.5 78 5.8 respectively. In whole group patients, sFe 6.3 4.1 μmol/L sTrfesat 9% 6%. During improved significantly without use supplementation, increased from normal levels while markers decreased, except one patient, whom sTfR stayed elevated TfR/logF value high. patients associated anaemia, cannot be used as such together seem useful assessing
