摘要: A fairly extensive absorption spectrum o f the free HCO radical produced by flash photolysis of acetaldehyde and other substances has been investigated with long absorbing paths under high resolution. The corresponding DCO also studied. consists simple bands P, Q R branches. It is shown that molecule linear in upper state, but bent lower state an angle about 120° a CO bond length approximately 1.20 A. Rotational constants both states have derived. Various arguments based on high-resolution measurements lead to conclusion main progression corresponds transitions vibrational levels even v9 2 (the quantum number bending mode). This confirmed observation low dispersion some intermediate odd v’ which are diffuse therefore not easily recognizable Apparently all l≠0 predissociated. type electronic transition be Σ+ ← A”, is, moment perpendicular molecular plane. cannot arise from normal H.
