Signal-To-Noise Ratio Calculations to Validate Sensor Positioning for Facial Muscle Assessment Using Noninvasive Facial Electromyography.

摘要: The evaluation of neuromodulator treatment outcomes can be performed by noninvasive surface-derived facial electromyography (fEMG) which detect cumulative muscle fiber activity deep to the skin. objective present study is identify most reliable locations where motor unit action potentials (MUAPs) various muscles quantified during fEMG measurements. population consisted five males and seven females (31.0 [12.9] years, body mass index 22.15 [1.6] kg/m2). Facial was assessed in several regions each patient for their respective utilizing fEMG. Variables interest were average root mean square three contractions (= signal) (µV), between those contraction with face a relaxed expression baseline noise) signal noise ratio (SNR). A total 1,709 processed signals revealed one specific location investigated region based on muscle's anatomy, highest value SNR, lowest noise, practicability position sensor while performing expression. results this exploratory may help guiding future researchers practitioners designing protocols measuring individual MUAP when presented herein selected measured parameters (SNR, signal, reproducibility placement.
