摘要: This paper analyses the temporal variation in size of home range and activity adult wild boar (Sus scrofa L.). Eighteen were radiotracked between 1991 1993 Maremma Natural Park (Central Italy). Variations home-range related to sex, winter food availability population density. The hypotheses that was inversely density, amount directly density abundance, tested. acorn crop used as a measure resource level. No differences found ranges, core area, males females. In 1991–92 larger than 1992–93; conversely, increased from 1992–93. Winter high low following year. Population greatly spring 1992 but crashed summer 1993, when mortality occurred due starvation. The decrease during shortage explained possible strategy adopted by cope with starvation. difference first second year study probably influenced although individual effects not clearly separable.
