Adaptive explicit congestion control based on bandwidth estimation for high bandwidth-delay product networks

摘要: Abstract Existing congestion control protocols for high bandwidth-delay product (HBDP) networks either suffer from efficiency degradation caused by insufficient feedback of the network state, or are difficult to deploy in real because they require modification IP header provide enough information. Based on VCP, this paper proposes VCP-BE protocol that can more accurate state information estimating available bandwidth sender with an adaptive estimator. The estimator dynamically adjust its parameters (e.g., observing interval) achieve different accuracy and responsiveness adapt indicated two ECN bits, without no than VCP. Furthermore, when load is high, calculates ratio current throughput judge if close overload state. With these fine-grained estimation, window precisely thus greatly improves convergence speed achieving utilization fairness. Simulation results show also outperforms MLCP, which uses seven bits explicit while only bits.
