Do we need a specific kind of technoscience assessment? Taking the convergence of science and technology seriously

摘要: The presented paper addresses the concept of technoscience and its possible implications for technology assessment. Drawing on discourse about converging technologies, it formulates assumption that a general shift within science from epistemic cultures to techno-epistemic lies at heart propagated convergence between nano-, bio-, info- cogno-sciences technologies. This is adequately captured—so main thesis—by label. elaborates shared characteristics new technosciences, especially their hybrid character non-linear integration basic research, object construction technological innovation. Recent calls modes governance (e.g. upstream assessment public participation) are discussed against background these characteristics. It concluded an adequate model emerging technosciences detailed understanding paramount importance current practices
