摘要: The abundant documentation of small mammals in the Italian peninsula, collected over recent years, furnishes a detailed biochronological sequence mainly from Late Pliocene onwards. An updated stratigraphic framework is here presented, based on European mammal biozonation. Early Villanyian characterized by Mimomys hassiacus, M. stehlini, and, later, poorly documented polonicus. localities are well with pliocaenicus, pitymyoides and tigliensis. older part Biharian assemblages containing Microtus (Allophaiomys) ex gr. pusillus, cf. ostramosensis tornensis, while later Biharian, advanced species occurring together pusillus or blanci. In savini, hintoni-gregaloides, (Iberomys) huescarensis-brecciensis Terricola arvalidens occur. Toringian A. mosbachensis, Allocricetus bursae, Pliomys episcopalis small-sized brecciensis, terrestris diversified associations quoted. most important faunal events calibrated independent chronological controls, thanks to record lacustrine deposits. Several figures illustrate significant rodent succession selected localities.
